Glymmer (http://glymmer.net) is a new experience design and production company founded by Seattle based new media artists Reilly Donovan and Joseph Gray in 2014. Glymmer specializes in producing interactive and immersive installations using emerging platforms and technologies. For Refinery29’s Her Brain On Digital event they created custom software and content for an interactive video wall in the entry hall to the event. Guests trigger animations and videos along with subtly affecting background glows and gradients as they enter into the event space. Motion tracking with a series of Microsoft Kinects in combination with the open source coding environment Processing allowed for a rapid development cycle while staying true to the concepts and designs made in collaboration with Refinery29’s creative team.
